Important Port Usage Guidelines :

HDMI

HDMI supports max resolution upto 4K @ 60 Hz refresh speed.
HDMI port of HyperDrive will only work if it is directly connected to the HDMI port of monitor using a direct HDMI to HDMI cable
For other USB C devices, HDMI port will only work if the device supports video out over USB C port (Displayport Alternate Mode).
